Stephen Poltorzycki Mr. Poltorzycki is the founder and President of The Boston Environmental Group, a firm dedicated to providing excellence in sustainable development and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) consulting. The focus of his work is to assist clients with sustainable development and EHS strategy, organizational, and management challenges in maximizing the business value of their EHS activities. For these clients he has developed strategies and processes to create and deliver business value, evaluated and designed organizational frameworks, and assessed, designed, and implemented management systems to assure compliance, manage risk and obtain competitive advantage.
Prior to founding The Boston Environmental Group, Mr. Poltorzycki was a Vice President of Arthur D. Little and a member of its Environmental, Health and Safety practice. He also served as a corporate litigation attorney with Union Carbide Corporation where he gained extensive experience in the litigation and management of safety and environmental issues, including through coordinating the technical and legal resources necessary to assess the origin and ramifications of the Bhopal accident.
He is the author of Creating Environmental Business Value, as well as a number of articles in various publications on the subjects of environmental management and sustainable development.
Maryanne DiBerto
Ms. DiBerto is Senior Vice President of The Boston Environmental Group, a firm dedicated to providing excellence in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) consulting. The focus of her work is to assist clients in evaluating and improving their EHS performance. An authority on EHS auditing, Ms. DiBerto is frequently called on to advise corporate management regarding ways to enhance the effectiveness of their EHS auditing activities. In addition, she has led assignments to evaluate the organization and functioning of corporate- and facility-level EHS programs, and provided recommendations for improving their overall effectiveness and efficiency. Prior to joining The Boston Environmental Group, Ms. DiBerto was a Vice President of Arthur D. Little and a member of its Environmental Health and Safety Practice for more than 25 years. She was the co-founder of Arthur D. Little?s Environmental Auditing Practice and served as its Managing Director as well as President of Arthur D. Little of Canada Limited. She is co-author of three books on environmental auditing: Environmental Auditing: Fundamentals and Techniques and The Environmental, Health, and Safety Auditor?s Handbook, as well as the ICC Guide to Effective Environmental Auditing for the International Chamber of Commerce. She has written numerous papers and articles on EHS auditing, and is a frequent speaker on the subject. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Auditing Roundtable.
